Charlie Kirk was a new voice in the world of Christian Conservatives. His was a fresh voice reaching out to millions of young people with a message of the Gospel and Conservative Christian values. His assassination won't end the message he believed, loved, and shared with everyone. The Love of God never ends and conservative values are timeless. Now is a time for mourning and reflections.

I’ve been a Christian Conservative for over 40 years. I grew up politically reading with great interest the literary works of Dr. Russell Kirk who led the 1950x intellectual conservative movement, which broke ground for the 1960s political conservative movement, from which came Barry Goldwater for President and Ronald Reagan. Dr. Kirk taught us that the first principle of conservatism is a belief in a transcendent order or body of natural law. Charlie Kirk shared this view no less. Needless to say, the legacy of the Kirk’s will live on.

Assassination is not an easy term to apply to what is obviously murder. President Kennedy was assassination (and his brother Bobby). But Charlie Kirk was not running for public office. However, the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Junior ( Dr. King) was assassinated as a Christian Liberal leader of another social movement (the Civil Rights movement)t. Like the Kirks, Dr. King also advocated matters transcendent and said:

Jesus is for everyone regardless of color,

People are people regardless of color, and

Law should be applied equally to all people regardless of color.

Dr. King wanted to get into the conscience of a nation. As Dr.'s Kirk and King both led movements (right and left; conservative and liberal), they based their work on matters transcendent. So too did Charlie Kirk.

I take Mr. Kirk’s assassination personally. He died for what he believed in as a Christian and a Conservative. That’s who I am and what I do. It isn’t hard to sum up what it means to be a Christian Conservative – keepers of the Word(s). We want to open the Bible, take God at His Word, and do what it says, without amendment. And we want to take the Constitution at face value, follow it word by word(s), and not allow people to change it without an amendment (re: progressive movement). We are very dangerous to people who want to change the words of the Bible and the Constitution as we work to maintain integrity with the words of the Bible and the Constitution. Go figure.

Now is the time for mourning; and mourn we shall. But now is also the time for building. It has been said before that a movement is never stronger than when its founder is alive. Yes, Charlie Kirk has been taken from us; but Jesus is still ALIVE!!! Our founder, Christ Jesus is still leading the movement he began for the forgiveness of sins and the sanctification of the saints. And always remember, all you have to do is BELIEVE in Jesus. May peace go with you as you grieve.

I hesitate to put my own material out but as this is my blog and I think it will help us move forward as a team, please consider my recent publication of the Hidden Treasures of the Declaration of Independence. I never met, talked with, or spent time with Charlie Kirk but his viewpoints coincide with my own. I think you will like this book as it opens the doors of understanding for our current religious/political cultural wars. These wars are getting hot but always remember what Paul said to the Romans Christians:

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)

We always have to do what is right to achieve what is right. There is no other way to victory.

The history of ideas that led to the Declaration of Independence is one that took centuries to develop. Thomas Jefferson and his compatriots shared the values and principles written in the Declaration as they lived them to their fullest in their personal lives. They sincerely dedicated their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to build a new country based upon the high ideals they presented.

Human Rights was the number one priority for the Founding Fathers. These Rights were not mere philosophy; they were a concrete reality for every human being. They understood that our Rights came from God and not man nor the State. They also understood our moral responsibility to do what is right in the sight of God.

Among our basic human Rights is the idea of religious freedom. This was a fundamental Right that was central to the mind of all Americans at the time the Declaration was drafted and signed. No discussion of the Declaration would be complete without a review of their view of the freedom of conscience.

The Declaration of Independence has led many nations to abandon tyranny in favor of free and independent republics. This book uncovers hidden treasures that you will find apply to your own lives as well. This is what made America Great and what can Make America Great Again.
