Grand Mufti and Hitler Meet in November 1941
Grand Mufti and Hitler Meet in November 1941

Since WWII, the trial at Nuremberg stood as a witness to the judgement against war crimes. War in and of itself is horrible but when war crimes are committed, they need to be accounted for and the people responsible punished. This is the lasting legacy of the Nuremberg trial that convicted Nazis who conspired to commit horrific acts beyond warfare. Following this legacy of evil, Vladimir Putin in Russia, the Ayatollah in Iran, and the leadership of Hamas in Gaza should stand trial for their war crimes and sentenced accordingly.

Russia

Czar Vladimir the Less is a brutal dictator whose crimes are on full display. He has killed hundreds of thousands of the sons of the mothers of Russia and should be held accountable for that alone. The nation of Russia, led by the Russian people, should incarcerate him and try him for crimes against Mother Russia. In the end, the people of Russia are the only ones who can bring the war against the Ukraine to a peaceful end.

Shy of Russians working internally to right the wrongs of state, an international tribunal should try Mr. Putin for Crimes Against Humanity, Crimes Against Nations, and Crimes Against Peace. These are the 3 crimes that the Nazis were tried for and convicted. His war against Ukraine has put him in league with Hitler, Stalin, and the Czars that preceded him in brutality.

Mr. Putin also has a path to take on his own but it is foolish to expect him to take it. He should resign, ask for new elections, and insure that billionaire oligarchs no longer control his country. This kind of action begs leave of one’s senses as he has lost his senses and is no longer serving the people of Russia. Who is he serving?!

Iran

The Ayatollah of Iran has prepared a totalitarian terrorist state geared at oppressing the people of Iran and then exporting state terrorism through Hezbollah internationally. The Iranian regime was at war with America since the hostage crisis of the 1970s when Ayatollah Khomeini seized power in Iran. They were subsequently at war with the U.S. during the Gulf War against Saddam Hussein in Iraq. They actively killed Americans in Iraq and have continued to do so worldwide.

The Iranian people have long hoped for the freedoms they once enjoyed under the Shah and this they can have under a new representative republic once the religious terrorism of their state is removed. This is not likely to happen as the police and military are subject to the religious leaders in political power. The heads of state, to include the Ayatollah Khamenei, should be tried for the same set of war crimes as noted above. The Iranian regime is guilty of Crimes Against Humanity, Crimes Against Nations, and Crimes Against Peace.

It should be noted that the spirit of Nazi genocide of the Jews resides in the Iranian regime. Ayatollah Khomeini was recruited by the Nazis during WWII. The Nazis had an outreach to the Persian (Iranian) people and broadcast radio shows to them in Farsi from Radio Berlin in the 1940s. As a young theology student, the future Ayatollah Khomeini was impressed by these broadcasts and accepted the trope that Jews at large had a global plan to disrupt the world. The spirit of the Nazis is found in the work of the terrorist group, Hezbollah. Like the leadership in Iran, their leadership should be held accountable for an endless array of war crimes. The same crimes that the Nazis were guilty of they are guilty of and they should be tried in the same way.

Hamas in Gaza

The people of Gaza are caught between a rock and a hard place. They cannot sue for peace because their leadership refuses peace. If they try to work with the Israelis, they will likely get shot and killed. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Again, the Nazis reached out to the Arabs to gain their support. In November 1941, the Grand Mufti, Hajj Amin al-Husayni, sat down and talked with Hitler about their international plans to prevent a Jewish homeland in Palestine/Israel and that once the Germans came to Arab lands, they would free them of the ‘Jewish Problem.’

The Palestinian cause was taken up by the Grand Mufti in the 1930s and the policies he established transferred to others such a Yasser Arafat, former leader of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). Arafat’s mother was a cousin to the Grand Mufti. Arafat's goals were not different from the Nazis initiatives espoused by his notable relative.

The war crimes committed by the successor of the PLO, Hamas, were evident for the world to see when on 7 October 2023, 1,200 Jews were murdered in Israel and more than 250 hostages were taken. Here again we find Crimes Against Humanity, Crimes Against Nations, and Crimes Against Peace. These crimes should be tried in an international tribunal in Nuremberg and the same penalties ascribed to the Nazis of one generation should be applied to the war criminals of our generation.

Maybe one day, the Palestinian people can be free of their oppressors at home; meaning, once Hamas is removed, the people may be free to elect a peaceful government for themselves and the world.
