Did you get the message of Mr. Biden’s Farewell Address? ‘Oligarchies are threatening our nation.’ While his focus is more in line with socialist Senators Warren and Sanders who seem to hate billionaires, what about the billion dollar corporations who own more than 90% of the media we have in this nation? Yes, let’s begin some ‘Trust Busting Pal!’ Let’s start with the major media institutions of this nation who represent a monopoly of corporate media, running our nation into the ground with their oligarchies.
Let’s start with some fun facts. In the mid-1980s, 90% or more of the media in the United States was owned by more than 50 corporations. In 2011, that number was reduced to 6 corporations. Now, that number is down to 5 corporations. The collapse of media alternatives has led to a concentration of power representing more than monopolies that need to be split, it represents a liberal oligarchy of the rich and powerful who want to manipulate the outcome of elections and pervert our systems of liberty and justice for all.
Trust busting is what has recently happened with the liberal media oligarchs (using Mr. Biden’s new cherished term). The Liberal media spoofed their own people about the evils of Mr. Trump only to warm up to him at his Mara Lago home after he won the election. The disillusionment (or busting of trust) of many Democrats who voted like they were supposed to has led to questions of whether or not the media was honest with them. Of course the liberal media was honest; they were honest enough to gaslight everyone they could find with their Woke, DEI, and LGBTQ liberal agenda.
But the real problem isn’t the ingenuine nature of the Liberal media. The problem is that there is no real ability of journalists to disagree with the major media’s party line; with fewer outlets for journalists, the more likely any alternate views will be suppressed by the oligarchs. Given a monopoly of the workplace, either that monopoly has to be busted or unions surface that protect workers in a monopolistic workplace. In short, either provide for journalist unions who can work as conservatives in a liberal media environment or start busting up these ‘trusts’ that are completely untrustworthy.
Can I get a job on MSNBC and present perspectives contrary to the LGBTQ caucus? Could I or someone else oppose the socialism of the Democrat Party on air with CBS, NBC, or ABC? Could I be allowed to tell people in a Disney owned company that Disney actually hired a convicted child molester to direct the movie Powder? Disney has long turned the family friendly media corporation into one that subtly promotes sexual perversion to children. With a lack of competition within the media, comes the requirement that Woke, DEI, LGBTQ, etc have to be validated by journalists or they can get fired.
Yes Mr. Biden, Mr. President, we are dealing with a long established oligarchy of the rich and powerful. These are the same people who helped you hide in the basement and get elected President of the United States. But that’s not your focus is it. Your focus is on the people who are successful in business apart from government’s socialist control. And if socialism is to rule the roost in this country, these people need to pay their ‘fair share.’ Ever been introduced to the reality that the progressive tax scale is inherently ‘unfair.’ Let’s give a Flat Tax a fair shake!
Please Mr. Trump, soon to be Mr. President, start busting up some ‘trusts’ within the corporate media world. Put competition back into the media just as much as the internet, blogs, email, newsletters, tweets, etc. have provided you and others with an outlet that doesn’t require the use large media corporations to get your message out. Work with Congress to limit the scope of large, multi-billion dollar companies to control the world of information sharing.
Who is it that doesn’t know that the ‘freedom of the press’ doesn’t belong to the media? It belongs to the American people. As soon as the People get sick and tired of the bad actors in the media, they will take back their ‘freedom of the press’ and give it to someone else. Ever hear of market share? How’s that working for the liberal media? Not to good these days. That’s a good start to trust busting.
And Mr. Trump, how about moving the White House press briefs with the Press Corps to another building? Permanently end the use of the White House for the monopolistic media to insult you; they are more interested in their tabloid journalism than they are in providing We the People with quality information from respectful questions.
Instead, turn the Brady Press Briefing Room into the Brady Media Studio. With it you can put together television shows that will compete with the media oligarchs in the presentation of news and information to the American People. This room can be used for interviews, live 2-way conversational shows, internet podcasts, and a host of other alternate media activities. Out compete your political opponents in the media with the truth and information accurately presented from the administration.
Expand upon this by creating content for both C-SPAN and a White House media network all your own. Let this White House media content you create explore the world of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government. It can be used to present the inner workings of the various administrative bureaucracies to the American public, help people understand the difficult financial issues that affect our taxes, our retirement, our economy, etc. Many documentaries can be produced that will add value to competition in the media marketplace for the attention of the American public.
Again, flood the media outlets with competitive information that will add value to what We The People, who are supposed to be in charge of our government, actually know about our government. Truly, how can we be in charge when we don’t know what our government is or what it is doing? Use the Brady Studio (not Press Room) for a new venture into the world of the media to compete with these oligarchs. This will greatly enhance the work of DOGE and HHS.
And who among you witnessed the end of the free press in the DOD under Mr. Obama’s tenure? He literally killed the Early Bird new feed from within our nation’s military (copy and paste actual media news clips) because he got unfavorable press. So much for the free and fair competition of the news. The ability for people to see at a glance what the media is saying about our military is priceless. Please bring that back.
So much can be said about Mr. Biden’s last days in office. Thank you for offering us a glimpse into the future (past?) about how oligarchs try to corrupt our system of government and elections for their own advantage. Or was that your own home team who has tried it and lost in 2016 and now again in 2024.
Welcome are the days ahead as together we go busting up untrustworthy media oligarchs who monopolize the media, threaten alternate media outlets, and try to apply cancel culture to anyone who disagrees or gets in their way of liberal ideology. Welcome are the days when We the People actually get to hear our voices echoed by someone in the White House who hears us, understands us, and is working to help us govern our own country once again. Thanks Mr. Biden for the suggestion. And Mr. Trump, can we thank you for busting up the media oligarchs? Thanks again.
[Please note: The purpose of this website is to promote viewpoints on various cultural issues that do not get a regular hearing in the modern press (media). I’ve been pursuing the ideas of alternate media forms for more than 25 years. This website is called Free Press Inc and the whole point of this website is to share quality information and perspectives with people without adding any advertisements. I intend to compete with the media for the minds of Americans without bombarding them with incessant ads. Trust busting is an old issue with me. I only hope you can catch fire and start publishing your own views in competition with the liberal media oligarchies. That, to me, is the best method of trust busting I know.]
