Its time for a New Conservative Base in the Democrat Party

“Success! We’ve rid ourselves of all the white racists in our Party,” said the Democrats. “But where did we go wrong in the last election?” they complained. This is the question before us and it is as simple as this: Success came with a price!!!

Flash back to the late 1940s and early 1950s and you’ll find the Democrat Party dominated by white racists who implemented and supported Jim Crow racism. Most people living today do not remember the days of blatant racism. Maybe grandparents or great grandparents remember the days of oppression dictated by Democrat politicians and established by law. Can you remember the day when if you had the wrong color you might be on the wrong side of the street? I can’t. But it happened!

It was during this time that the Democrat Party, who actually supported slavery and Jim Crow persecution by law, was being challenged by the Civil Rights community; largely a black coalition later championed by the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Junior (MLK). This coalition of civil rights advocates noted that all elections in the American South were won by Democrats only. No Republicans (Party of Lincoln) served in the South. This is where Jim Crow ruled as King until the Court ruled that Democrat Primaries were defacto elections. Whoever won the primary election won the general election. So black people could join the Democrat Party and change it from the inside out. The objective was clear enough, join ranks within the chief racist institution of America (the Democrat Party) and change it from the inside out!!!

So enter in the Civil Right advocates, and others who championed causes for liberal social justice issues that included unions, homosexuality, and others. Joining ranks under MLK (whose focus was the rule of law equally applied to everyone), they were a liberal coalition that changed America with the signing of the Civil Rights and Voter Rights acts of the 1960s. This is also the time when political liberals in the 1960s began to make a purge of the white racists from the Democrat Party; people who didn’t support the ‘64/’65 legislation and others who once supported Jim Crow. The purge was on and guess what, they have succeeded.

However, gone with the wind was not only white racism in the Democrat ranks but white racist conservatives. Progressives, et al, saw to it that any vestige of conservatism was eradicated from their Party. This purge has misshapen an entire Party to the point where even Blue Dog Democrats find themselves without a home in their own Party today. While winning one victory, they have lost another. Biden Harris have lost the campaign for President in 2024 because America is still largely conservative (not racist). Conservatives within not only the white community, but Hispanics, blacks, Asians, etc. Multicultural conservatism in America is a reality born of morals and tradition; and every culture has morals and tradition. And culture transcends ethnicity; all people groups have a culture. America rejected the modern Democrat Party because they were focused only on color, not culture. As the Democrat Party largely rejected traditional moral values (aka conservatism), Americans largely rejected them. That is why they lost the election and this is where they went wrong.

Is there a chance we can change the rabid Progressive left in the new National Socialist Party – No. But perhaps we can change them from the inside out…?!

When black men and women joined the Democrat Party in the 1950s, they were considered a minority, not because of race, but because they were not in the majority of the Party; they were numerically less than 50%+1, which designates them as a minority faction. So many other groups joined them as noted to increase their plurality. This led to the final destruction of the conservative base of the Democrat Party as conservatism and racism were intertwined. This intermingling is not  inherent within conservatism but humanity (Biden is still a white liberal racist). Sadly, this push for more political support for the election did not focus entirely upon the black community but from others with longstanding illiberal perspectives.

The anthropology of the black community is poor in America. The long history of struggle for freedom in black America is more than political failures and gains. It’s a mix of values that are inherent within any people group. Leading two factions within the black community were Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Dubois. Washington wanted to take things slowly and build social and economic clout (conservative) but Dubois pushed for immediate change (liberal). Washington was a conservative and Dubois was a liberal even supporting socialism. The victory of the Civil Rights movement was largely led, not exclusively, by the Dubois camp. And what a victory! Liberalism and Civil Rights marched side by side down main street in America and black people were told to vote only for Democrats. Absent from the beginning was any value added to the choice of who to vote for. Simply vote for one Party or “You Ain’t Black Man,” as Biden said.

Following the assassination of MLK in 1968, one would think everyone in black America would register for the vote. An interesting note on who is registered to vote in black America is that 40% to 45% of black Americans eligible to vote are registered to vote. As 90% of registered black Americans regularly vote Democrat, the math shows that 45 x 0.9 = 40.5%. As 2 ÷ 5 (or 2/5) = 40%, the black community is represented by 2/5ths of the entire black community. And the 2/5ths apportionment of the black community is used mainly for white Democrat candidates who promise the black community the moon. Not quite the 3/5ths apportionment used by white Democrats during slavery but you get the point. And as that leaves 3/5ths of the black community unregistered to vote (for those eligible to vote), this is where we can begin to change things from the inside out once again!

Enter the conservative base of the black community. Largely founded upon Washington’s goals of higher education, building an economic foundation through black small businesses, and conservative Christian values (black politics was usually centered within the black Church), black conservatives may actually represent a majority of black Americans with 55% to 60% of them unregistered to vote. So why not register all black Americans to vote? Why only a few? Dr. King spilled his blood to give the black community the right to vote. Unless the left in black America is directly terrorizing conservatives in the black community, there is no reason why they should not sign up and vote on election day; and vote for the conservative candidate, white or black. This is the change that America is hoping for. And while voting Republican is an option, why not continue to focus attention on the Democrat Party and change it from the inside out.

As Republicans typically represents conservative social and economic values, the number of black voters grew in the last election for Mr. Trump. Here again, conservative values transcend ethnicity. Republicans need to realize that we attract voters from all ethic backgrounds as we reach deep into the culture of any people group. And if the black community, largely conservative but not registered to vote, were to flex their political muscles and vote, they could vote for any conservative candidate – Republican or Democrat.

So with a push to get everyone registered, there is no reason why black voters cannot continue to support the Democrat Party. Changing it from inside out as has happened before, they can join ranks within the Democrat Party and reconstitute conservatism for the benefit of all Americans to include themselves. Challenging liberal socialism with conservative economic values and an end to elective abortions that disproportionally kills black babies (enter here Margaret Sanger and her racist foundation of Planned Parenthood) with more conservative family values and black America can change the Party from the inside out in one election cycle. Blue Dogs, Reagan Democrats, and others who have a social and fiscal conservative foundation can join the Democrat Party and change America!
